Today, content for more than 6,500 brands in 51 countries is managed in Gain. From one of the world’s largest automobile manufacturers to one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies, all of our users trust us with their data and we don’t take that responsibility lightly.
On top of that, it feels like every month there are stories in the news about companies making mistakes when publishing content to their social channels or getting hacked and losing control of their accounts, which leads to their data being exposed to wrongdoers.
I’ve personally always been a stickler for online privacy and security, especially this last decade with all the incidents and revelations we’ve seen in the tech industry. I know Albizu, our CEO, is too… we’ve always admired companies that put users over business models, so that’s what we’ve tried to do in Gain. When it comes to building security into the product: always be informed, always double-check, always be proactive, and when it comes to user privacy, always do the right thing.
Rafael Torres, CTO and Co-Founder of Gain
The vision of our company is to simplify content workflows for everyone. A big part of providing you with that ideal experience of a seamless content workflow that increases your productivity, is not having to worry about your content and social media accounts being at risk. Today, we’re sharing with you 3 important steps we’ve taken towards fulfilling that vision.
This new Security page on our website details how we maintain our infrastructure, how we protect your data, how our product architecture keeps content from different brands separate even within one same account, and all the best practices we follow. We’ll always keep this page updated, so you know this is a source you can trust.
For anyone who wants more in-depth knowledge, we created a comprehensive document that details all our security standards, practices, certifications, and policies. You can access it from our new Security page or download it here as a PDF.
Finally, we’re excited to launch 2-step verification (also known as 2-factor authentication), which adds a step to the sign-in process so we can verify it’s really you signing in. After entering your username and password, you’ll be asked to enter a verification code sent to your phone. This is now available for all our users and you can learn how to set it up in this article from our Help Center.
Even though to this day Gain has never had any major security incidents, we have procedures in place for responding to them. But we encourage you to set up 2-step verification to make your account, your content, and your social network accounts more secure. When it comes to security, we won’t take chances.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us. We’ll be glad to discuss any of our practices with you and work with your tech team to ensure compliance with your company’s security policies as well.
Happy Monday and stay safe!
