Our goal at Gain is to make it simpler for you to manage content, and managing visual content in bulk is hard, especially visualizing it all in a 30-day calendar. Today we’re releasing a new 30-day calendar view of your content. The calendar view works both inside each social profile and at the client level, where you can finally see all your client content—Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram—in one place. Social Profile Calendar The 30-day calendar…

Today we launched Gain’s Instagram integration as beta for our Enterprise customers. After months of tinkering we finally achieved a simple way to create, manage, approve, schedule, and publish content on one of the most engaging social networks today. Instagram’s usage numbers are just impressive and the image-focused network is now bigger than Twitter with more than 300 million monthly active users. No wonder it has been by far our most requested integration. Contrary to what…

Last week we launched our Twitter integration as a beta feature. If you’re one of our Enterprise customers you should now see the option to add your Twitter accounts to Gain. Twitter management works exactly like our Facebook integration so using it will be second nature to you. We’ve included some cool features that should help your Twitter content to be more compelling and more visually appealing to your audience, including: Automatic retrieval of images…

Here’s a common case that many users have asked us about: “I have 20 posts with approvers already assigned. Turns out the approver is now someone else. Is there a way to change the approver on all those posts at once?” The answer to this question was, unfortunately, no. Once assigned, an approver will stay with the post, even if you return the post back to your drafts. To change the approver, you’d have to…

We just launched a couple of new features and enhancements and they’re now available to all our users. Audience Limiting Besides the ability to target Facebook posts to specific users on their newsfeed, now you can also limit who can see those posts anywhere on Facebook. When using the existing Newsfeed Targeting option you can make sure your posts are presented only on the newsfeed of a specific audience segment of the people that like your page.…

When we set out to create Gain we knew it was going to be a challenge. Building a product that would finally bring sanity and focus to the process of creating, collaborating, and managing social media content would not be easy, especially when you are trying to help fix the current workflows that have been adopted by many marketers as they try to adapt to the current crop of tools in the market today. After…

We’re excited to tell you about some great new features and improvements we’ve made to Gain. Customers have been asking for these for some time and we’re glad to release them today for you to play with. A More Streamlined Post Editor The WYSIWYG Facebook Post Editor gets a new look that’s more attractive and space-saving. The post previews are still front and center, but the scheduling and targeting options are more compact. We’ve also…

Today Facebook Page administrators woke up to find they don’t have the ability to attach a custom image when sharing a link. Facebook removed this feature, which gave Page admins full control of the look and feel of link posts. Content creators must now choose between the set of thumbnails Facebook fetches from the linked page. Link posts are the recommended and best-performing way to drive traffic to a website outside of Facebook, but this…

A couple of days ago a major vulnerability was found in OpenSSL, a third-party server component that provides secure access to many internet services such as ours. This vulnerability, called Heartbleed, affected many web services you use every day. When the vulnerability was announced we immediately responded and secured all Gain services. We are no longer vulnerable to Heartbleed. There is absolutely no evidence that any Gain customers’ personal data was compromised in any way. It…

Social media calendars out there suck. Most people just download a spreadsheet template or Google Doc from the web and just manage it there. So, what’s wrong with that? Everything. Let me try to list all the reasons why managing a social media calendar on a spreadsheet is wrong. Mistakes. Managing a spreadsheet basically means that you are constantly importing and exporting content from other places to manage it. We come from an agency background…
